The Palace Museum, currently closed, conducted a live webcast, the first of its kind, on Sunday, allowing audiences a chance to enjoy the beauty of the museum at home.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Palace Museum has been closed since January 25, for over 70 days. There are three live webcasts on April 5 and April 6.

During the first webcast, guides introduced the architecture, history and culture of the time-honored Palace Museum.

The 600-year-old Palace Museum has enjoyed increasingly popularity over the last few years. It received among over 17 million visitors in 2018, as the museum announced at a press conference.

According to its data, the Palace Museum has attracted growing number of young people born in the 80s and 90s – possibly the same group of people watching the live streaming online.
