Answer Bank: How to protect babies from COVID-19?
By Gao Yun

Babies cannot wear masks, which can cause breathing difficulties and pose suffocation risks. Therefore, parents should avoid taking them out and take precautions themselves to protect infants.

During the outbreak, it's better to have a permanent babysitter who:

1. Avoids going out.

2. Wears a mask.

3. Doesn't sneeze or breathe on the baby.

4. Washes his/her hands properly before touching the baby's items or interacting with them.

5. Doesn't share utensils.

6. Doesn't blow on the baby's food to cool it, nor taste or chew it before feeding them.

Keeping one's home ventilated is also important. Ventilate rooms twice to three times per day for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Make sure the baby is not in the room while it is being ventilated.
