Fatima Ait works as a registered childminder at a kindergarten in Lyon. She is in her forties and married with three children. Since March 17, every day, at 7 p.m., she and a group of friends surf the empty streets of Lyon to assist the dozens of homeless people that have been left alone. The NGOs that assisted them closed, as did the food banks. The local authorities even cut the public fountains, leaving the homeless without a water supply and their living situation has worsened. "Coronavirus is a monster," says Fatima. "But staying at home was not an option for me. I had to do something at my own level, like a simple citizen. I could not let them starve to death."
