A female brown bear is teaching her young cubs to fish at Kurile Lake, a volcanic crater lake in Kamchatka, Russia. One cub quickly learns from the experienced mother and manages to catch several fish.

In a brown bear family, the youngsters are fully dependent on their mother while the father takes no responsibility of raising cubs. The female brown bear will teach the cubs all the survival skills, including how to find nutritious food, how to hunt and fish, how to defense themselves and where to den.
