A Chinese sportswear company being sued for using NBA legend Michael Jordan's Chinese name as its trademark lost the case on Wednesday.

China's Supreme People's Court ruled that Qiaodan Sportswear lost the lawsuit of trademark infringement, leading to its trademark being suspended.

In China, the basketball legend's surname is commonly referred to as "Qiaodan," the Chinese pronunciation of Jordan. And Jordan also sued the sportswear company for infringement of portrait rights, arguing the company's trademark is similar to the silhouette of Jordan's motion.
