A Chinese medical team arrived at the Yangon International Airport in Yangon, Myanmar on April 8 to assist its government's ongoing efforts in the fight against COVID-19.
The 12-member Chinese medical team includes experts from several hospitals from southwest China's Yunnan Province in the fields of infection control, prevention of respiratory and severe diseases, clinical treatment and laboratory testing.
5.3 tonnes of material and equipment for laboratory testing, 8,500 N95 masks and 5,000 protective suits also arrived on a chartered plane.
During their 14-day stay in Myanmar, the Chinese medical team will collaborate with local experts in prevention and control work, as well as laboratory testing.
