Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday expressed his gratitude to China for helping his country fight against COVID-19, during a meeting with Chinese medical experts in Caracas. 

He thanked the medical experts for sharing China's experience of dealing with the virus with Venezuela's medical experts, saying Venezuela really needs China's help. 

The president also hailed the friendship between Venezuela and China as humanistic and profound. 

A team of Chinese medical and scientific experts arrived in Venezuela on March 31.
