About 350,000 of the Amur Adonis flowers peeked out of the snow in the mountains of Madaoling village, northeast China's Liaoning Province. These small yet strong flowers bloom in the coldness of early spring.
It's a perennial plant that can be found in the wild in northeast China, Japan, the Korean Peninsula and eastern Russia. Its blooming season lasts for about two months. The local government has developed ecotourism to boost the village's economy while protecting the environment.
