Drew Brees, quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, has already made himself a new professional plan after the NFL. According to the New York Post, Brees has agreed to join NBC Sports as a football analyst after retirement.

ESPN reached out to NBC about the news but a spokesman refused to confirm the deal, claiming: "Like all NFL fans, we look forward to watching Drew continue his Hall of Fame career this fall, and we're confident his post-playing career will be just as successful."

The New York Post had more details, saying Brees is expected to replace Cris Collinsworth on NBC's "Sunday Night Football." He would start as a game analyst for Notre Dame football games and a studio analyst for "Football Night in America."

The 41-year-old himself has not yet announced when he will retire. In fact, he just signed a two-year, 50-million-U.S.-dollar contract with the Saints last month. It makes sense to assume that he will at least finish one season.

"Right now, I'm focused on training for this season, enjoying time with my wife and kids, and re-learning fifth grade math!" said Brees to ESPN.

Sean Payton, head coach of the Saints recently told ESPN's Get Up that the 2020 season will be Brees' last season, though he later claimed that he does not know Brees' plan.

As a 13-time Pro-Bowler, Brees helped the Saints win a Super Bowl title in 2020 and currently leads the league in both passing yards (77,416) and touchdown passes (547).

Quarterbacks are commanders on the field so it should be fun listening to them talking about the game. Former Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo joined CBS as an analyst after retiring from the NFL. As a game analyst, Romo was not only able to predict teams' offensive tactics, but also told correctly how the free kick ball flew.

CBS paid Romo 17 million U.S. dollars a year, higher than the salaries of most players in the league.
