G20 leaders commit to ensuring that the energy sector continues to make a full, effective contribution to overcoming the COVID-19 outbreak and powering the subsequent global recovery, according to a statement released after a G20 meeting of energy ministers. 

The statement added that the countries will work together to ensure oil market stability and the balance of interests between oil producers and consumers, to make energy systems more adaptive and resilient in responding to future emergencies.
