Xiamen is not only a port city on China's southeastern coast, but also an important stopover for migratory birds. A bird watcher has spotted many great knots and some spotted greenshanks. The mudflats provide abundant food for hungry and exhausted birds after a long time spent flying. After a short rest, these birds will continue their journey and head to their northern breeding location.
