Recently, many tourist attractions have seen large crowds of visitors upon reopening, which increased the risk of cross-infection of the novel coronavirus. In order to ensure the safety and health of tourists, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Health Commission jointly issued a notice on prevention of the epidemic situation and orderly reopening of tourist attractions on April 13.

According to the notice, tourist attractions will only open the outdoor area, while the indoor area will remain closed. The number of tourists shall not exceed 30 percent of the maximum capacity. Before the implementation of tourism site preferential policies, the expected number of tourists shall be evaluated to prevent any overload.

Each scenic spot should implement a reservation system and guide tourists to avoid travel peaks. In addition, tourist sites should optimize their tour routes, strictly implement temperature screening and other prevention measures at the entrance and exits of scenic spots, according to the notice.
