U.S. President Donald Trump told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that the United States is ready to send equipment to Russia to fight coronavirus, the Interfax news agency cited Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying on Tuesday.
Lavrov said that Russia would consider sending more equipment to the United States, a move it made late last month, if requested to do so, the Tass news agency reported.
"If there are additional appeals from the U.S. side regarding the deliveries of this or that equipment or personal protection means, we will certainly consider them. [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin and [US President Donald] Trump discussed that in a recent telephone conversation," Lavrov said at a press conference.
On April 1, Russia's An-124 Ruslan military cargo aircraft arrived in New York. According to the Russian ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, the plane brought medical equipment, including masks and disinfectants.
Russia is also ready to discuss hypersonic missiles with the United States in the context of strategic stability, the RIA news agency cited Lavrov as saying on Tuesday.
Lavrov said that he would speak to his U.S. counterpart Mike Pompeo over telephone in the coming days, news agencies reported.
