China has rejected accusations from the U.S. State Department that it has violated its international obligations by secretly testing nuclear weapons. At a press conference on April 16, a foreign ministry spokesman said Washington's report was "made of thin air, totally unfounded and not worth refuting." He added the international community should be wary of the United States, which was continuously adding to its armed forces in a manner that "undermined the global strategic balance."
