Magnitude 5.9 earthquake hits Myanmar: USGS

An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 on Thursday struck near Myanmar's northwestern town of Falam, close to the country's western border with India, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, the USGS said. There was no immediate report on damages and casualties.
