The pandemic has changed people's lives in many ways, a growing number of which have begun to recognize the frailty of life and a desire to make sure their loved ones will hear their innermost – or even final – thoughts. Now an instant messaging app called WeChat in China is here to help.

The service on WeChat is provided by the China Will Registration Center, an advocacy and consultancy group for senior citizens. It stores people's messages and releases them at a time specified by the testators.
