In Xinjiang, ten types of small streetside shops have been built with government funds to help poor households get employed. According to demand, shops are rented to families living in poverty to open small restaurants, barber shops, repair shops, bakeries, grocery stores and other kinds of shops to increase income.

Many villagers have benefited from the policy. A total of 246 small shops have been built in Xinjiang's Yecheng County to help more people get employed.
