Five or six Chinese white dolphin calves were recently spotted in the Sanniangwan sea area in southern China's Qinzhou City.

The calves usually swim by the side of their parents, who sometimes carry them as well. Their age can be determined by their skin color: born black, they gradually turn grey and then white.

Sanniangwan is a natural home of the Chinese white dolphin, which is regarded as important as giant panda in China.

Thanks to environmental awareness and biodiversity protection, the Chinese white dolphin population in Sanniangwan has increased.
