Staff cheered and applauded as the final COVID-19 patient left a field hospital in Madrid, before turning off the lights and closing the ward.

The Pavilion 7 unit of the temporary hospital housed within the IFEMA exhibition center closed as the curve of COVID-19 transmissions flattened in Spain. The unit had reached 900 patients, with the last one leaving the hospital on April 19.
