China on Tuesday urged Japan to take concrete actions to win back trust from its Asian neighbors and the international community, and to face up to and deeply repent of its history of aggression.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang made these remarks at a press conference after Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent a ritual offering to the war-linked Yasukuni Shrine.

Geng also called for the Japanese side to honor the statement and commitment it has made so far.
