A fire was reported at a chemical plant in east China's Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, on Tuesday night. 

The incident happened at around 9:10 p.m. BJT. The fire was extinguished and the person in charge of the company was taken into custody.  

There are no reports of any casualties so far. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, according to local police.
