On April 20, the Online Assistance Platform for Students Studying in the UK was officially co-launched by the Chinese Embassy in the UK and West China Hospital of Sichuan University. Through the platform, experts of West China Hospital will offer advice and answer questions from Chinese students in the UK on COVID-19 prevention.

During the online speech, Chinese Ambassador to Britain Liu Xiaoming pointed out that the "Online Assistance Platform for Students Studying in the UK" is another platform following Shandong Province's scheme to offer targeted support to Chinese students in UK in face of COVID-19. It will strengthen the confidence and courage of Chinese students in the UK to stay safe and healthy.

Li Weimin, Dean of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, introduced a series of activities to help students studying in the UK have a better understanding of COVID-19, learn about scientific protection measures and to reduce panic.

The launching ceremony was held online. Over 50,000 people, including students across the UK and their parents tuned in.

Since the outbreak in the UK, more than 2,000 volunteers from around the world have contributed to the distribution of health packs including anti-epidemic guide and medical kits to the more than 100,000 Chinese students studying in the UK.
