An on-site job fair was held in Wuhan on Tuesday with strict epidemic prevention measures.
Over 1,600 job vacancies from more than 40 enterprises were offered, involving a variety of industries like food, pharmaceuticals, logistics, manufacturing, garment, and agriculture, among others.
To offset COVID-19's impact on the job market, China has taken measures to ensure employment and promote work resumption, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
A total of 206 enterprises attended the job fair, seeking jobs from 6,200 positions provided. To avoid any potential of the coronavirus spreading, participants were required to use hand sanitizer and wear masks.
Even though the fair was small, many jobseekers rushed to apply for jobs. The city will continue to organize small-scale recruitment activities until the end of June, which will amount to 70 job fairs with 30,000 jobs on offer.
