Colombian couple meets and marries in a homeless shelter

A traditional wedding in extraordinary circumstances. The bridesmaids wore face masks, and the new married couple kissed with the masks on. And the wedding night was spent in self-isolation.

Maria Cecilia Osorio and Alfonso Ardila met at a homeless shelter in Colombia, after they found themselves without jobs and money during the nationwide shutdown, so they got married in the same place. Other residents in the shelter banded together to hold the wedding, even cleared out the mud, decorated it with ribbons, and set up an altar.

Once the crisis passes, the couple hopes to enjoy another wedding tradition – the honeymoon. They are looking forward to May 11, when the country's state of emergency is set to end.
