Hu Ming, ICU director at the Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital, said that before any outbreak ends, the ongoing statistics collected during the same period are not accurate.
"It can't be 100 percent accurate, so there will be amendments," he added.
As for the death toll in Wuhan, the doctor noted that apart from COVID-19 victims, people should also take into account those who died from chronic diseases, during the coronavirus outbreak. "These particular numbers need to be further clarified," he said.
The doctor also stated that in his point of view the high death tolls in New York and Los Angeles "are caused by overwhelmed medical resources," similar to an early situation in Wuhan. "But they should have an advantage over us, since we already warned others in the world about the virus two to three months ago."
