The "Spider-Man" sequel release date has been delayed to November 2021, in a domino-effect of wide-range shifts in the theatrical release calendar due to coronavirus.
Late Friday, Sony Pictures announced to shift the animated sequel to "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" from April 8, 2022 to October 7, 2022, and to release the final movie of the live-action "Spider-Man: Homecoming" trilogy, on November 5, 2021 instead of July 16, 2021.
Shortly after the Sony's announcement, Disney's Marvel Studios pushed back the release of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" from its original date of November 5, 2021 to March 25, 2022.
Another Disney film "Thor: Love and Thunder," was pushed up a week from February 18, 2022 to February 11, 2022.
The coronavirus pandemic has greatly impacted Hollywood with many productions halting and major films moving from their original release dates.
