After White House officials shared findings on the effects of sunlight and common cleaning supplies on the coronavirus, U.S. President Donald Trump raised the possibility of using heat, light and injecting disinfectants to treat the coronavirus during a White House briefing, which has dumbfounded medical experts.

However, Trump later said he was being "sarcastic" when he suggested injecting disinfectants to ward off the virus after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warned against using disinfectants as a treatment method.
