N95 mask inventor abandons retirement to aid in pandemic

Hospitals worldwide are facing shortages of mask supplies because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Material scientist and engineer Peter Tsai has come out of retirement to study safe ways to disinfect single-use N95 masks for reuse. Tsai invented the core technology used in the N95 mask nearly 30 years ago.
