Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Extraordinary Conference on COVID-19 via video conference on Tuesday in Beijing, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The annual meeting of five emerging national economies Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa is hosted by rotating chair Russia this year, said the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang in a statement.

Geng said that Wang, together with other BRICS foreign ministers, will discuss the impacts of the pandemic on international relations, joint efforts to tackle global challenges and deepen BRICS cooperation as well as other topics.
