Brazilian medics get COVID-19 tests at drive-through

Health professionals receive free rapid COVID-19 tests at a drive-through in Manaus, the capital of Brazil's hard-hit Amazonas State. About 5.5 percent of the 23,000 health workers have tested positive for the virus, as the number of cases nationwide hits 107,780.

Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro railed against the country's lockdown in a speech to thousands of anti-confinement demonstrators. The number of confirmed COVID-19 infections has crossed 100,000, with more than 7,000 deaths. Rio de Janeiro last week extended stay-at-home orders until May 11, ignoring Bolsonaro's demand that local and state authorities encourage Brazilians to get back to work.
