A Chinese woodcarving master used wood to recreate a scene in the ancient masterpiece painting titled "Along the River During the Qingming Festival." By using carving techniques such as hollowed-out carvings, transparent carvings, reliefs and fine transparent carvings, he brought forth mountains, rivers, city walls, streets, bridges, houses and shops. In all, 2,275 characters, each about an inch tall, need to be carved with at least a hundred strokes.
