One of the largest infrastructure projects in Africa, Lamu Port in Kenya, is undergoing construction as workers have taken measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19. The first to third berth projects are being constructed by a consortium of companies led by China Communications Construction. The Lapsset Corridor Project plan includes a 32-berth port, transportation hubs for rail, highway and international airports in Lamu, Isiolo and Lodwar, an oil pipeline from South Sudan, Uganda and Ethiopia to Lamu Port, an oil refinery and three resort cities in Isiolo, Lamu and Turkana.
