Fluffy 'snow' from a 1,000-year-old fringetree in May

If you are a lover of Buddha statues from the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-589), Qingzhou City in north China's Shandong Province is a place not to be missed. The city not only has well-preserved statues, but is also home to a variety of ancient trees.

This blooming Chinese fringetree has stood at the foot of the Zhenque Mountain for over 1,000 years. Its falling white flowers in early summer look like fluffy snow.
