On the steep streets of Chongqing in southwest China, "bang-bang" - or porters - help carry heavy goods for anyone willing to pay a small fee. The nickname refers to the bamboo carrying pole slung over their shoulders. Although many don't use the pole anymore, they still provide handy and cheap service of delivering heavy loads without the aid of any modern means, vehicles or equipment alike.
