This day is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world. In China, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May, which this year falls on May 10.

The poem "Song of the Parting Son"（《游子吟》唐 孟郊）, written by Tang Dynasty poet Meng Jiao, is among the classic poems about a mother's selfless love.
