China unveils second tariff exemption list of U.S. products

China on Tuesday unveiled the second list of 79 U.S. products which will be excluded from the second round of additional tariffs.

The exemption will be effective from May 19, 2020 to May 18, 2021, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council said in a statement. The latest list waives tariffs on products including ores of rare earth metals, gold ores, silver ores and concentrates.

The imports value of the products were not disclosed. 

Beijing and Washington's top trade negotiators held a call last week and discussed implementation of the phase one deal signed in January. The two sides agreed to remain in communication and to strengthen cooperation in macro-economy and public health, and create a favorable atmosphere and conditions for the implementation of the phase one trade deal.
