The Fenhe River, also called the "mother river" by Shanxi locals, is the second largest branch of the Yellow River and the largest river in north China's Shanxi province. 

But in the past, the ecological environment on both sides of the Fenhe River was damaged, with less and polluted water.

Now, the Fenhe River has seen abundant, good quality water through comprehensive ecological management.
