Washington DC opens temporary COVID-19 hospital at convention center

A 437-bed ready-to-use field hospital has opened in Washington DC, community transmission of COVID-19 continues. The site will accommodate around 100 patients as of this week, and the city's hospitals are at 71 percent capacity overall.

117 new COVID-19 cases were reported on May 10, taking the total to 6,389. Five Washingtonians have died from the virus, bringing the city's death total to 328.
