On May 12, 2020, colorful corn poppies bloomed vividly under the summer sunlight in a flower bed in Beijing.

In the northern hemisphere, the corn poppy usually blossoms between May and October, but the blossoming period may be longer in a warm climate. The showy flower has four red petals, and depending on different cultivars, flowers in yellow, pink and white are also commonly seen in flower beds.
