Clusters of rhododendron lapponicum, or Lapland rosebay, are blooming on Huanghui Mountain, east China's Anhui Province, at an altitude of 1,024 meters.

From above, it appears as if the hills are dressed in a sea of pink flowers.

They thrive in loose acidic soil with sufficient sunlight in mountainous areas and tundras.

In China, they are found in Mount Emei in Sichuan Province, Yongshan County in Yunnan Province, Greater Khingan Range, Changbai Mountains and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
