China's Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council holds a daily media conference on the mental health services under normalized COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

Mental health problems like anxiety and depression are not only seen in China but around the globe. The coronavirus outbreak sparked a major global mental health crisis, the United Nations warned Thursday, calling for immediate action to tackle the psychological suffering caused by the pandemic.

As early as January, in the epicenter of Wuhan of China, nearly 150 psychological medics were sent to Wuhan to help ease the mental stress for the patients and their relatives. China attached great importance to psychological intervention and counseling amid the outbreak.
