Do you remember Mr. Ray, the teacher of Nemo's class, in Disney's animated film "Finding Nemo"? In the real world, Mr. Ray is a spotted eagle ray. Similar to Mr. Ray, the thornback ray also has a flat body with wing-like pectoral fins.
This small thornback ray in Aquarium Pula in Croatia just turned three months old. It can grow to one meter in length when it becomes an adult. The thornback ray is commonly seen by divers in coastal waters in Europe.
