Greater coucal with booming calls spotted in SW China's Dali

Staff at the Dali Qinghua Green Peafowl Nature Reserve have recently spotted some greater coucals at the reserve.

The greater coucal is under second-class state protection in China. It is also known as the crow pheasant and is a member of the cuckoo order of birds.

It is a large-sized cuckoo and is a weak flyer that likes to walk around in pairs.
