What's new?

Due to COVID-19, technology is playing a greater role this year in bringing the nation's top political advisory body closer to the public.

The website of the CPPCC National Committee started to seek opinions and suggestions from netizens on May 8, which will help the 2,100 national political advisers hear more voices of the public before they gather in Beijing.

Meanwhile, government officials, those who used to sit in on meetings during political advisory sessions as non-voting participants, are able to hear comments and suggestions by using video links, telephones and the internet.

The CPPCC is a political advisory body that raises proposals concerning politics, the economy and social affairs. It has regional committees across the country and a national committee, which is China's top political advisory body.
