Beijing has voiced strong opposition to a move by the U.S. Secretary of State.
Mike Pompeo Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to Taiwan's leader Tsai Ing-wen on her inauguration.
China said it would not tolerate any act which aims to separate Taiwan from the Chinese mainland.
