The U.S. Treasury Department has slapped new sanctions on Iran, according to a notice posted on its website on Wednesday.

The new round of sanctions have targeted nine individuals, including Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, according to the notice. 

The sanctions also target three entities – two prisons and a law enforcement group.
