The third session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened on Thursday afternoon at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a work report to the political advisers who have gathered to discuss major domestic political, economic and social issues as well as make proposals.

In reviewing the work since the second session of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC last year, Wang said the CPPCC has always stayed true to the principle of serving the people and promoting social development.
