The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) has officially recognized and thanked a group of African volunteers who helped fight the coronavirus in China.

On May 14, the group was invited to visit the CPAFFC to share their stories and expertise in combating COVID-19.

Among them, Mariatu Kargbo, a Sierra Leonean artist in Beijing, raised funds for China, served for a Beijing community to prevent and control the epidemic and shared China's anti-epidemic stories on social media platforms.

Brett Lyndall MD, a South African doctor in Wenzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, gave up his vacation plans back home to stay in China and volunteer, offering local people medical services and sharing China's anti-virus experience and measures with the world.

Munyaradzi Gurure, a Zimbabwean student in Nanning, southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, composed a song to pay tribute to medical workers and helped in a railway station during the epidemic.

Our African friends chose to stay in China and fight the epidemic side by side with the local Chinese people, delivering positive energy to the world, said Lin Songtian, president of the CPAFFC, when he met the volunteers.

Praising and thanking them for their efforts, Lin said he sees the future and hope of the China-Africa relationship from the goodwill actions of these young African people.

Describing them as contributors and disseminators of China-Africa friendship and outstanding friendship messengers, Lin said he hoped that they would make friends, study and master skills in China, and contribute more to Africa's development and the China-Africa friendship in the future.
