Manchester United have been mouthwatering for Borussia Dortmund's 20-year-old genius Jadon Sancho for a long time. However, they may face extra competition as ESPN revealed that Bayern Munich are also interested in Sancho.

Since he was promoted to the first team in 2017, Sancho scored 27 goals for Dortmund in 70 appearances. He could play in both wings and is a sharp slasher who can often make smart passes. Somehow Pep Guardiola failed to see his talents and let him go to Dortmund at a price of only 7.84 million euros (about 8.54 million U.S. dollars).

Man United have been struggling for several seasons and they needed a star to cheer things up. It's better if they can land a domestic one and it will be even more exciting if the transfer can make Manchester City feel bad. Therefore, Sancho is a perfect target.

Sancho's current contract with Dortmund will come due in 2022 and the two sides agreed that he can leave this summer as long as the buyer meets Dortmund's requested price – some say it's 120 million euros (about 130.7 million U.S. dollars).

It's true that Bayern's first target is still Leroy Sane of Man City, but according to ESPN, the Bundesliga heavyweights are willing to keep their options open. If the negotiations with Man City do go well again, Bayern will not hesitate to chase Sancho.

However, Dortmund may not want to sell Sancho to Bayern. In the past seasons, they already watched their major championship competitor lure Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski (for free) and Mats Hummels away, the last thing they want is to be tagged as Bayern's biggest help provider again.
