HKSAR Liaison Office: National security law draft decision essential

The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region said the draft decision is essential to close loopholes in National Security Legislation for HKSAR and ensure the stability of "One Country, Two Systems". The office says the draft fully embodies the central government's strong will and firm determination to maintain national security. A spokesperson said on Friday that since the illegal "Occupy Central" movement and the fugitive bill protests, opposition forces in Hong Kong have repeatedly crossed the line severely challenging the "One Country, Two Systems" principle and threatening national security. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry has responded to U.S. President Donald Trump, who vowed to intervene if the draft becomes law.
